hey jst got a problem with a mate car.its an 86 2LT desiel. wen u start it wen its cold it sounds lik some ones throwen a hand full of marbles into the motor yet once it gets warm it doesnt do it.it also blows smoke and is slugish, any one got any ideas????

Sounds like you have an engine timing issue.
The timing belt may have slipped a tooth or 2.
Best get the cover removed and check the timing marks line-up as they should for it to run smooth again.
The marble sound is a diesel engine "rattle" associated with incorrect Injector Pump timing.
Was the truck running fine, then it changed all of a sudden, or has it been like this since it was obtained?
