03 SR5 Hilux tonneau with TJM sports bars

Post by SR-5 »

Hi all

my dual cab lux is missing its tonneau cover, i went into Toyota today to buy one and found it wont fit my TJM sports bars (older type that look like the Toyota ones but sit further back)

the guy i called at TJM wants to have a look but does anyone know how I might be able to get something sorted by this Friday? kinda need one for a trip to Sydney. I was thinking about removing them but now my new Tonneau cover has holes and without fluking the purchase of a 2nd hand set of Toyota bars im stuffed.

send the torneau back to toyota get a non-genuine with no holes in it, then pay a shop to cut the holes in to suit your bar. Its only about $20 a hole and the torneau is probably cheaper non genuine also.

$215 from Toyota.

TJM want $450 to make one that'll fit. They'll also match the custom one to the tonneau 'hooks' which aren't in normal toyota positions. It appears as though a custum one had been fitted but removed before my purchase.

I'll try to find a cheaper mob to make me a custom one otherwise i'll just fork it over to TJM

Have you got a tray tub liner? You can get custom ones made that fit under the liner "lip".

You can get covers made up for like $300. Go to a motor trimmer place, should only take a few hours for them to make it.

I got myn made up the other day.

Nice and tight haha better then genuine

I paid $120 for a standard one from toyota and then it cost me $60 to cut the holes and add about 80mm to the front because i hate the look of them when they srink.

Just got a custom one made for my 100 series dual cab with style side tray for $230
if ya gona rev it, Chev it

Havent got a pic with me, but il see if I can get one tomorow.

They just added like a hardish plastic strip on the edge of it, and it just slides under the tray liner lip.

Actually, just thought about this, if the trimmers dont know what your on about, dont let them do the job, its quite hard to get this right and it will turn out like shit if they dont know what there doing
