hubs
I doubt they are broken they are more likely just seized up. The aisian hubs are stronger than anything else.Ive never broken one to the stage i couldnt drive on it. Just pull the cover off it and check its not all rusted up.
If you need i only live around the corner from you and if you bring it over i could maybe have a look for ya.

well pulled the covers off this arvo and they both seem fine, there was a little bit of rust inside em, bit it didn't stop the gears from sliding and engaging. the spring seemed fine and was moving freely, and there where no teeth or anything missing from any of the gears.
i put a bit of grease in em to see if it'd help, but when i tested it again, it still doesn't have any power to the front wheels

OK OK when you put the hubs in the lock postion get under the vit and see you can rotate the cv shaft(IFS)is great for this. If you can rotate the cv your hubs are not locking in.If you can't turn them they are locked and you may have a diff missing LOL.

sucess , had another go at the drivers hub after i used 12uke's idea about twisting the cv's, before that i'd only been doing the front tailshaft so i couldn't tell which side was buggered.
took your advice ruff and checked it out again, i musn't of taken enough notice of the spring the first time round cause it wasn't seated properly and wasn't expanding totally
so ripped the other off to compare it too, found the prob, whacked it all back together and it's working like a charm...of to ormeau on sunday (should make it a bit further than i did on boxing day)
so thanks ruff and 12uke for helping out, remind me to buy you both a beer some time
