questions about shackles and bushes
questions about shackles and bushes
hey guys,
i have a 85 SWB MK SD33T
Q1 - it looks like the rear shackle pins are welded to the actual shackle, is this true? if so where can i buy more pins, got some custom made shackles goin on this wkend and need the pins.
Q2- i bought a bush kit for the front springs a couple of months ago, i didnt end up using the bushes that go into the eye of the front spring where the bottom of the shackle attaches, are these bushes the same as the rear spring eye where the bottom of the shackle attaches?
Q3- what are the bushes in the chassis for the rear shackles called?

I dont really understand what you are asking?
From factory the pins are welded to one side of the shackles as in most other vehicles they are usually pressed only so this makes it easier for guys to make their own shackles.
Front Mk bushes are a larger bush on the bottom that connects to the spring, in the top that connects to the chassis they are different again. MQ's are the same top and bottom .
Sometimes you come across a MQ that has MK springs and bushes.
Now on the rear shackle connecting to the spring they are a different size from the front and also a different size top to bottom.
Hopefully clearer than mud .
