Middy body lift

Post by frp88 »

I did the search but it came back with 1000 off threads I thinking of doing a 1 inch. Who done one and what need to be moved I hopping that it's only auto shifter and the PTO selector feel that rolling the rear guards with a 1 inch body lift should be enough for 35's. So if I have to do the same for thing a 2 inch then or is there more things to move :?:

i did a 2 inch on a bj73 i droped the rad down 2 inch just redrilled the holes, also got a longer clutch line made it was a bit tight for my liking, for the steering colum it was long enough just slides near the p/s box, and the fuel filler is ok as well and the front needed threaded rods from memory, i think anything else il will post apart from that it was a piece of pee, and ive got 35s with a two inch sping and shackle lift

35's ought to fit pretty well with no body lift, especially if they're 'small' 35's (most are). Just thought i could save you some trouble if you haven't got em on yet. Where do you think the clearance issues are? I run 37's on 10" (i.e. extra offset) rims with no b/l and could have gotten away with std rear guards on the troopy - though if the rear flexed they may scrub on the inner rear guard (extra offset helps here)

It a 2" spring lift and I am going to shackle reversal which will move the diff forward. So if I get the rear guards done that should be O.K then. I have a liking to Kreepy's .

I have 2" ish spring and about 1,3/4" body with 35s. I have no probs with guards, but it rubs on the inside a lot when articulated. As said above, with wider offset it should help this problem. Al works quite well with no mods.

I did a big post a couple of years ago on my body lift. Not sure if its still there.

EDIT: found it! http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/phpBB2/vi ... highlight=

I used 50mm Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethelene for front and rear and 75mm for the middle 3 mounts so the spacer was the same diameter as the mount. I still have more than enough left to do another one if you're interested.

I never dropped my radiator but I'm running a thermo fan so its no hassle.

Don't forget to re-adjust your rear brake load sensor, otherwise the back brakes will never engage.

Brake an dclutch lines were fine. Watch vacuum hoses to transfer

Wont need to adjust the load censor for a body lift. It is mounted to the chassis.
