What to look 4 when Buying a 4.2 Petrol Patrol 1990

Post by PeterInSa »

A good mate is thinking of buying a 4.2 Petrol Patrol 290,000K's, what areas should he/I specially check out, eg rust, CV joints, does this Patrol have any specific weaknesses.

What would be a reasonable price assuming 50% tyre wear etc.

intend to conevrt to to Petrol/Gas, to pull a 2500 KG van.

This year 1990 the carby is natrurally asperated can it be changed over to Fuel injected from a later model? if so approx cost?

Thanks Peter

Yep. What Bogged said. They all do heads and that will cost at least $1000. If you want an injected one, get one. Not hard to convert, but why bother? Not much better performance or economy but still probably a better choice.
