Before anyone says it I have searched and cannot find exactly what I am looking for.
I have a 1990 Ford Maverick poverty pack. It was factory fitted with 7.50x16's on split rims. It has 4.11's in it.
What is the diametre on the 7.50x16's?
Basically I have upgraded to 35x12.5's now and am still running the 4.11's. I am tossing up if I need to go to 4.6's if 4.3's will do or seeing as though I have just put the 5.0 in if I can get away with the original 4.11's.
Any help is appreciated.
Matt

Tyre questions on a GQ.
4.6 diff ratios will return the gear to standard with 35 inch tyres. Probally best to just get out there and drive it. If it feels good leave it. If it struggles a bit then 4.3. If you realy notice the lack of gearing then go 4.6 ratios.
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

Re: Tyre questions on a GQ.
so you've put in a 308? Leave it as it is to start with, and drive it see for yourself.. that donk should have heaps of power to run 35's
Re: Tyre questions on a GQ.
Nope have actually put in a 5.0 EFI Windsor. It have enough grunt to drive them but it feels like it is a gear out. It will still drive ok but it does not feel real happy.bogged wrote:so you've put in a 308? I pinched my old mans 33's earlier on and it drove really well. It would pull 5th gear at 60km but was much happier in fourth.
It seems a lot nicer to drive so I might look at putting a set of 4.3's in it. I didnt realise how much difference it would make.

so your running 4.1s with 35's and 4.1 with 33 feels 'right'.. so you want 4.3s to make your 35's feel right.mattsluxtruck wrote:Nope have actually put in a 5.0 EFI Windsor. Yep thats pretty much as I was saying above. I honestly didnt believe the amount of difference that slight change could make.bogged wrote:so your running 4.1s with 35's and 4.1 with 33 feels 'right'.. so you want 4.3s to make your 35's feel right.mattsluxtruck wrote:Nope have actually put in a 5.0 EFI Windsor.
