looked at a sierra today 96 hardtop leaf sprung 120 000km vgc as new stock as cheap bull bar toe bar $5,000 new tyres is this about right
also as i live so close to fraser island, so where to check for rust ect which may be hidden
are they all wide tracks in 96 or how do i tell.
im going back for a test drive 2morro the bloke wasnt home is there anything major that i shod look for or any little tips for me to keep an eye on
any info is good info as my last sierra was a $150 one litre paddy basher that lasted 3yrs

just advice
$5000 is about right for a 96coily. In my experience some coilys had engine probs mine dropped two pistons at 70 000 but was replaced under warranty no probs after that but when we took it in with a "strange" noise the suzuki mechanics new what it was when we drove in.
Also if your going to mod it they are more expensive and involved for serious off roading but not too hard for mild stuff.

my bro has a 96 leaf sprung model. its a decent price. sierras are fairly simple. chances are if it drives good and feels good then theres nothing to hide in them. ie they dont have anything complicated to break like electronics. yes look 4 rust. enjoy.

Also check as much of the floor pan as possible, lift up carpets if there is any and take off any seat covers.
Also take it for a long test drive (highway included) and offer to pay for fuel if needs be.
