starting problem 4.2 nissan

Post by icelandpatrol »

Hello from Iceland
I have alittle problem with my car Nissan patrol 2001 3.0
i have just removed 3.0 and installed 4.2 l nissan diesel
and the problem is i cannot get the engine going
it is starting ok but seems not be getting oil in the engine.
Now i am told there is a thiefalarm system on the diesel
injection, a little round black plastik with 6 wires stiking out
and i dont know where these wires connect.
If someone knows i would be wery happy if the one could
tell me or even send me a picture of it
Regards from Iceland

Hi Helgi, Yes your 3lt has an immobiliser but early 4.2 gu does not have one so it would be easier to bypass your original immobiliser wiring and just feed switched 12v from the ignition switch to the injector pump solinoid - Good luck

I'm assuming we are still talking about the "tps" here?
Mine is on a manual GQ, so does not do the same as the GU, but here is a pic of what mine looks like anyway.

Its been removed from my pump, but normally screws on top. Being a manual, mine only runs 3 wires

This plugs into the plug to the left hanging down here

Which I'm told controls the butterfly in my intake.

Looks like its controlled by this

May not be of any use, but from the previous topics, this is what you were taking about?
Might need to search for a wiring diagram on here for the TD42T, did it include full loom?
