Speedo not working

Post by Lil pig »

Hi guys, Got a problem with my 92 Hilux speedo. It doesent work most of the time and when it does work its only jumping up to 160km even when the car is stopped. the rest of the time it just sits on 0km. What could be causing this problem.

Thanks
Troy

Could be a few things.
A bad earth in a car can do weird things
Check the plug on the t case is clean of dirt and on fully
Maybe pull cluster out and check the plugs are in and clean.
Assuming the blinkers etc are working? Because they all are off the same fuse I think.

A Small file and some Co2 cleaner if the contacts are dirty does the trick.

There is a speed sensor on the box/transfer. It has 3 wires. Try resetting the plug to this.
