I've bought a 05 triton glxr and have some xterrains to go onto it. They're on hilux/ 4runner sunraysias at the moment that were fitted to my old 87 ifs 4runner before it retired.
Will the rims fit my new triton? Or should I go shopping for some new ones? Won't have the triton for a week so trial and error isn't possible
I know I'm going from a 16" to a 15" rim but have been told the smaller rim will fit ok and the overall diamater is almost the same. Just wondering about the stud pattern.
stud pattern is the same, infact nilly all 6stud 4x4's have the same stud pattern, and offset shouldnt be a problem, id be more worried about inside the rim hitting on caliper etc... going to a smaller rim than factor. you will just have to trial fit them i think.
ah thanks thats good news about the stud pattern then Offset won't be a issue you're right there too
As for going to a 15 from a 16 inch rim I know that and have asked this question before. The mitsubishi experts assured me 15's go on without an issue there and this actually came from people actually running them... which is always handy
So it seems like they will fit So I won't rush out now and buy new rims now. I'll post up when I gt the car as to whether they do fit, but likes all will be good

haha cool postage might hurt though thanks again
But it wouldn't hurt me...
What width are they? I've only got the std Challenger 15x7 mags, and need something a little larger (wider) for a 32" tyre...
My name is Rob.
His name is Robert Paulson. His name is Robert Paulson. His name is Robert Paulson. His name is Robert Paulson.
they fit on not a heap of clearance to the caliper though.
they scrub a touch on full lock hard cornering though which is weird being almost identical size. A 265/70 r16 should be about 10.4 inch wide and the 31's are a 10.5. I guess they're just numbers on the side though real measurements are anyones guess
New rims in time then.... these'll do for now I lifted it a tiny bit with the torsion bars today. Never done it before so taking it slowly Don't know exactly how much it went up but distance from upper bumpstop is about 40% and to lower bumpstop 60% if you can picture that... instead of being 50/50 up and down.
Not sure if I should go up much more but it did make a decent difference.
The CVs will handle 0%/100% - not sure your kidneys will.
I've trimmed the upper (droop) stops and have a gap of about 15mm - quite happy with the compromise. Once you're happy with the height you should take it to a decent wheel aligner. Typically requires shims & longer bolts to restore camber.
I'd still have 30mm to go up maybe to get as far as you have including shaving. I would like to keep the front a bit lower for better handling though..............

Pulled them out, stuck them in a vice, marked them & cut them with a hacksaw. Took off about 10mm, so they're now 15mm instead of 25mm.
When I had the Paj engineered in SA the engineer was quite happy for me to replace them with 6mm conveyor style rubber strips. Just need to get off my backside and bolt them in.
