Nissan comp truck

Post by JEEP1 »

hey guys im new to the nissan side just have a few qst's
i currently have a jeep tj up on 35s fully locked, and iam wanting to eventually get into something like the Out back challenge,

iam aware that the tj would need some more serious dollars into getting it up to level for that comp but even still i dont think it would last as much as i hate saying that.

so iam thinking (i dont know any nissan model actually nothing about nissans) of buying a nissan patrol ute what do i look for model?? this will be built for offroad competitions and will be weekend driver aswell no trailer for small weekend plays.

thanks alot guys and if there is any pics out there would love to see what i could do,

cheers
AJ

Really depends just how much money you want to throw into the Rig AJ ,

Every 2nd OBC rig is either a blown 4.2 petty /stroked 5litre/ or BIG dollar Diesel ,

If I had my way ..I would look into a GQ UTE with atleast a GU front diff or a set of Chromo CV's from CALOFFROAD ..being a jeep enthusiest you should know who Im talkn about ...perhaps a healthy 304 out to 355 for those long creek runs ....and then the suspension can go anywhere from upgraded coils to all OUT coilovers and then all the strengthening parts for protection as needed .....I may suggest looking over a few OBC vids or perhaps even better ....(something I wish to do soon) get to the event or other events that the competitors from the OBC compete in and have a chat to a few ...have alook over there rigs watch how they perform and take a few ideas from each and combine ...........

well thats somthing I wish to do 1 day .......... but depends how much you have to spend and how much you can maybe do yourself .......

you could also keep and eye out for a 4sale EX OBC rig ...that can be picked up at a percentage of the build cost , well sometimes ;)
