The lights on my dash for the turbo arnt working since i put a 2.8 diesel in my surf and put my turbo on it. I can hear it spooling up but the lights do not come on, the wastegate was working before i changed motor, but im not sure how it works
does whatever controlls the lights tell the wastegate when to open and close, or is it the wastegate that has been set to a specific pressure which when reached make it open and stop the boost from increasing
Any help would be great as im too scared to drive it (Not because of the enormous power) because I dont want to overboost it and blow my new engine
bleed valve is closed

lights on the dash are done by the boost switch/boost sensor (depending on model) and do not control the turbo.
personally i would forget the dash lights and just use a boost guage.
also if you had a 2lt not 2lt-e you could get rid of the ECU all together but you will need to convert the glow plug set up to the hilux type.
