alternator problems

Post by KS GQ »

how ya goin im having trouble figuring out what is up with my alternator,
when i turn my car on the volt meter reads 18volts straight away but soon after driving for say 2-4 kms it will drop back down to 12-13 where it should be, yesterday i replaced the battery because it was completely buggered, so i put the new one in and this morning and the car started fine but straight back up to bloody 18 volts ive been told it might be the regulator but if anyone has any idea's?

Sounds like the regulator, and it's going to kill your new battery if you don't fix it.
