The manual says to tighten bolts to specified torque. I've searched this manual (haines) for over an hour and cant find the torque settings for the ram housing.
If you know the settings could I please have them.
And, if you know the page in the manual I would be greatful to anyone that wants to make me look stupid.
note: these rover manuals are crap !
Thanks in advance

Torque settings for trumpets (ram housing)
Moderator: Micka
If there torque isnt stated in the assembly/disassembly section its generally taken the standard bolt torque is used.
the general torques arfe listed on page two of the overhaul manual. Have you check in the fuel injection section of the manual as the intake manifold torques are all in there. I will find the torque and post it up when i do
Edit:
Page 16 of the EFI section "Fit ram housing. Tighten bolts, working from twol centre bolts, diagnonally towards outer for bolts. Tighten to 26nm. (19FtLb's)"
(obviously you have to apply sealant between the ram housing and intake manifold.)
cheers
Luke

Older Haines manuals are better because they assume you do actually want to rebuild a transfer case (etc) yourself even when you've never done it before. Newer ones have left out all the fun stuff.
If all else fails go here for all the fun:
