hey yeah i broguth a set and put a 2inch striat through on my stock sierra and i notice more top end power but not really much and a nice note (eg sounds like a big fart ) and they wont stay that colour as the say inthe add i went through muddy water the otehr day and it just stained them cant get them clean now but they are the right price and do the job

Cheers for that! I also found out my mate bought a set of these for his Mav & he reckons they are well made and a good price so I think I might get some.

I don't think any kind of paint on something that gets so hot will ever stay the same... The Hurricane extractors I have on my grey zook were painted a gold colour & quickly peeled off once it got heat in it. So I'm not expecting showroom condition on these!

Does your straight through exhaust system drone much??!!

Calmini is releasing a new tri-y header in stainless steel . I've had one of their ceramic coated ones for years, very well made .

nah doesnt drone much if u sit at like 105 if ur dead on 100 or jsut below its around 3450rpm and then she will drone but i usually have my music on so i dont really hear it much, the loudest points are 2000rpm to 2500rpm and then 3000rpm to 3600rpm roughly dependin on the gear ur in but i like the sound of it i got my whole system for 180 for extractors and then i payed 270 all up altho that didnt include a new cat i just got rid of the cat and hopefully dont get caught lol

altho i might mention the exhaust place gave me a reciept and said that with that with my model its borderlining if i need a cat or not..

Ohhh... why did you have to show me this now I want some!! LOL They look awesome + all the gear that goes with it is a much needed bonus. The bolt up bottom flange is something you rarely find on other brands, eliminating the need for a flex joint - so they've definitely put some thought into it this.

Well I'm off to find out how much it'll cost in freight :D

just remember, once it gets covered in mud and dirt you can see the chrome =) lol save some $$$ and get the steel pipe...

eh!... can or can't see the 'chrome'? Whoever gets to see extractors anyway! I was more impressed by the design over the looks :D I think this is a complete replacement for the mild steel ones they made. Same design, but cost less... Bugga. I had some USD's to burn too :cool:

my mate has installed these extractors recently, along with 2" exhaust (although its from standard cat back) with a 'turbo?' (S shaped internals) muffler. Doesn't sound to different from stock but he saids it got a little bit more go.

My other mate is running extractors and 2" exhaust with a hot dog (straight through type) muffler and not sure about cat but sounds very vroom vroom fun and nice and burbly on deceleration/compression braking... :cool:

One thing about these extractors is they are press bent, not like proper custom extractors which are made with mandrel bends. (although I'd still buy them as its only a 1.3 suzuki!)

The tubes have to be mandrel bent , my older header has no dents or internal diameter changes at all .
If you use a 3-bolt collector type like Calmini's you should still use a flex joint . It also helps a lot to use the dead-soft copper or aluminum collector gaskets instead of the included composite gasket . Here , most guys use the 2" flexible stainless braided pipe sections , folks on Ebay and Summit Racing sell them pretty reasonable. Otherwise, once the header and flex are installed you can pretty much use a straight section of pipe back to the muffler . Easy enough system and durable .

My old hurricane extractors were welded straight on, they broke once going over a razorback dune but then I had them welded up again no probs. Granted I'll be doing more flexy offroading once my hard top gets back on the road... so I think I'll be getting that braided piping.

That's the part , although the ones I use have a longer piece of pipe for welding them . The idea behind using a flex joint is to prevent stress against the collector gasket . The header , since it's bolted solid to the engine acts like a torque arm when the engine mounts flex under a load . Over time this will destroy the joint between the header and the rest of the pipe system quickly . The flex joint just lets the two move independently enough to isolate them .

yeah, I was advised about using a flex joint ages ago when I first got my extractors for that very same reason... but somehow I never ended up with one, thus breaking it at the weld within 3 months i think it was. I was a bit cheezed off I had to go back & get the darn thing fixed & pay more money :shock: Ahhhh, thats why I never got a flex joint, LOL Capitalist exhaust shop. Silly thing is I know the owner quite well who did it, LOL Australian attitude = 'she'll be right mate" !!!

extractors make it louder not faster. maybe a gain of 2 hp for $200 awsome. Not worth it i reckon, at least not on a
standard 1.3.

yeah, i got some of these, they look neat.
but yeah, press bent unequal length runners. for the price, yeah not too bad.
also has a 2% gain in wank factor. make your signature a little longer.

how did you go with freight cost, and do you know if they will fit on the 1.6 carby motor

should do. 1.3 carby and 1.6 carby have rectangular ports. The EFI motors have round ports.

Vitara and sierra extractors have to follow a different line as the chassis widths and exhaust paths are different, but the heads themselves have the same bolt pattern.

Calmini are arseh@les to try and get them to send stuff over its like they dont want our money or something. You deal with low range and they are to happy to help but them f@ck heads. I looked on the low range web site and they sell the same headers same price, only thing is $us 70 to get them over. Snake Racing just seem to get the price and tripple it then sell it to us, so they are no good

$70US to get them over here isn't too bad considering the x-rate is better these days... I could imagine the AU shop prices wanting a lot more than getting them shipped from US yourself. Still either way, maybe not worth the effort

no not when i just got a price from an exhaust place near me for the same thing, hurracane headers $170 plus the coating which they say is really only for show cars anyway. part number HU139 ST

You cant put those calmini extractors on the white zuk anyway cos it says not for cars with pollution controlled cars so i'd assume the cat?
Also go see what ripco want for lukey extractors or do you want me to get a better price :P

Nah, I was still considering putting the hurricanes on the white zook & putting something else like *maybe* like Calmini on the HT... but who knows, depends on price. Have to replace the whole system anyway ... just looking for ideas. Don't want noise, just a nice note like what I originally had on it (1 3/4)

My system is just about rusted out... patched it up for rego 6 months ago, but is now getting worse.

I am getting a 2" cat-back system installed for under $300, and will look at extractors later (would like to get them all at once, but the money tree is a bit wilted).

i will be looking at the MPH headers/extractors for a cheap alternative (was quoted anywhere between 200 - 400 for other brands).

Did they bolt up to the standard cat? or did you have to get a new cat aswell?

i put a weber carb, extractors, 2 inch straigh through, 4 inch cannon on my old one and it was ssoooooooooo loud. everyone at traffic lights used to look around to see which car was making all the noise. all of them lol'd when they saw it was a sierra haha.
