ok ive got diff oil all over my left rear calliper and disc so i guess ive done some sort of seal or gasket right? ive done a search and no luck so
1) whats possibly gone bung?
2) is it an easy fix i.e could it be done at home?
3) does anyone have some exploded manual pics of the area in question they could fax me so i know whats gone wrong?
4) if its an easy fix and someone in sydneys south west wants a bottle of Jim Beam to fix it (i supply parts) would any one consider doin it for me?
thanks in advance!

We had this issue with one of our GU's. Replaced seal multiple times, replaced bearing twice. Eventually they put a new axle casing in it with new shafts and that solved the problem.
That was done under nissan warranty. It started leaking at around 10,000km on the odometer. Certainly a strange one.
But its not uncommon for just the seals to flog out. Theyre a $20 part I think from memory. Around 3 hours labour per side.

There is an o'ring missing off the picture , it goes on the diff housing and seals between the bearing housing. the axle seal is not that bad to do, if you don't try to pull the bearing of the shaft, just replace the seal and clean of old oil from all parts, and clean down in a week or so again, cheers Phill
ok so by lookin at the picture, theres no pressing involved to change the stuffed seal thats prob causing the leak right? if thats the case i might get my hands dirty this weekend!

the inner seal is easy, the outer bearing seal will require a press, but still not to bad to change. If your goin to change the outer, replace the sleave it runs on also, they are around $14 from nissan.
if you are careful, the bearing cage is plastic and can be disassembled, you can press the axle bearing off retaining all the parts change the outer seal press the bearing inner back on reasemble the bearing race. this saves buying a complete assembly
