suspension choice

Post by simkell »

I am considering the option of going coilovers as opposed to standard position 4inch raised springs and 2.5 external reservoir fox shocks.

was chasing opinions of the coilovers and is it worth the extra cost and time to manufacture brackets and the like. cheers in advance.

by the way, the vehicle will be a dual cab 80 series.

I voted standard springs and fox shocks but only because this is what i have been told before.

I'm looking of good handling ( high speed on and off road ) and something that will still flex ok.

I'll be watching with interest.

I say fox shocks unless you are going to compete in outback challenge.

talk to rohan canavan, kym bolton and/or bob dunsmore (tuf 355) rohan has coilover front and rear, kym bolton has coil and fox front with coilover and smoothie rear where bob had smoothies front and rear all have been told that their setup is good or well suited, all do outback.

point being, depends who you talk to.

coilover or smoothy or by-pass shock

Post by rohan canavan »

all these will work for the outback ,valveing the set up is more important than anything.if you run smoothy then l would reccomend bump stops as well.l know l sell king but more than happy to explane the difference in shocks as opposed to brands thanks rohan 0417395295

non coilovers or bypass shocks are both called smoothies. i thought it was just the bypass shocks but now have been told it is pretty much all the shocks that are non coilover on that page.

You know, I knew I was going to put my foot in my mouth on this one. And I know they are coil sprung. Oh well lol.
My buddy has one lifted 3 inches with the Snake lower arms.
