Ive just been lookin at mine and have found that i have an airleak, which will also turn into a water leak when submersed,

i read here a while ago, and some one had posted about a company selling a fittin which removes the pre cleaner, is this true, or was i dreaming?

I'll go take a photo of the shit I used. I took mine out and threw it away.. Apparently they ALL crack on the pipe underneath that runs to the airbox.

Running direct pipe from snorkel to the air box... no precleaner.

This is it, not good pics, but camera battery is just about fubar.
The hose I got from Purple pig, $15 to do 1 car.

The guard side, I had to get AWILL to weld a piece of pipe onto there for the hose to clamp to..

Also replaced the sticky foam shit on the airbox where the pipe joins.

Where the pipe comes from the guard, had to cut the original pipe that comes from air box to the precleaner, and joined them up with hoseclamp, the pipe from guard fitted PERFECTLY onto the OEM pipe...

VERY AIR tight now.

you said that you had to get some pipe welded on to the mounting plate on the guard, what was the material made from?

any tips or hints to make it easier

The plate that goes between the snorkel, and inside the guard, that mounts onto the innerguard, is flush on the inside of the engine bay. AW welded some alloy onto this, about 50mm long (good mounting point)...

Just that a hacksaw to cut the plastic pipe from the airbox, so youhave the square end for the airbox, 2 good hoseclamps, some silastic, thats about it....

I have an offcut of the stuff outside, its got wire running through it to stop it collapsing. The material is sorta waxed finish..
