My understanding of lockright/detroit lockers is that if you are going in a straight line IE both wheels doing same revs/speed, then when you apply power the diff will lock.
If you want to go around a corner unlocked you back off until you have turned in (wheels will be doing different speeds) and then apply power and only one wheel will drive.
If you want to go sideways around a corner then apply power before turning in.
Wether its wet or dry doesn't make much difference to the locker but it may affect your driving style which in turn will affect the locker operation.
Allan Moffat mastered left foot braking in XW GT's.
He would brake into a corner whilst accelerating just enough to ensure the locker stayed engaged. A lot of other drivers couldn't get this right and smoked one tyre leaving corners.
I know a GT is a long way from a Suzi but the principle is the same.

It seems more stable in the rear as where it used to step out on one roundabout with open diff. last night i tryed but it would not. But back to the ratios is that the right ratio for my lwb. 5.3.6 :?: and when i get gears later in the year. What ones will get as im only going to run 235/75/15 tyres. :?: :?:

I put a minni spool in the rear of mine and its harder to get side ways unless I have over 3grnd revs and yank the wheel, when it was an open diff it used to just slide out all the time.
,imes a swb though

You probably had enough power to break one tyre loose, but not it hs to break both loose, it just doesnt have the balls. Mine was like that, used to spin on wheel easy, then after locking diff, it is harder go get out, but onece it does go, its much more fun :D.

I was thinking the same thing. V8's with locked diffs and spools can be scary in the wet and tight round abouts

iv gotta agree, in my SWB in the wet, its an absolute drifter, ok minus the power to keep it side was for ages... but its still heaps of fun
