can anyone tell me if you can get or if i can put a rear lsd in the front has anyone had a front lsd does it work have a factory lsd rear so without pulling it out would say it is a 4.6ratio correct me if wrong in any detail please cheer tim
Done it, the pathy LSD isn't strong enough, it shattered the clutch plates in 6 months on 36 Simexes. They are 1/2 the size of the Nissan Rear, and the Nissan rear won't go in the front due to the axle size.

I have a Pathfinder LSD up front which I had "shimmed" before installation. Works almost as a spool since it's so thight. I run 37" MTRs with chains. Of course, I have a GQ.
GQ TD42, OME 5" suspension, 3" bodylift, shimmed V6 Pathfinder LSD front, ARB rear, Safari snorkel, custom front and rear bumpers, Nissan 4.625 R&P, 37" MTRs.

Harts are very good! They set one up in my GU, and its grouse!

The only concern i have with the detroits and ezi lockers are your cv's.
Lifting wheels and banging them back onto the ground will soon bust cv joints with the above lockers in place.
I ran this setup for 2 years without a problem so has gut42 from this forum.
Grab an MQ diff there are some for sale on this site Harts at Brendale will do the conversioin for you.
I never experienced any probs with mine and will do this again as a temporary measure until ARB lockers fits my budget.

dont waste your time if money is an issue just take your time an save for an air locker nothing else comes close, that wil save heaps of cv strain cos only use it when you need it an can turn off when just driving around, makes life so much easier. steering an cv's will love ya for it
I have Powertrax Lockrite and under heavy load the car is a bit harder to steer than normal, but i haven't broken CV's and i have come down on the front pretty hard to the point i have buckled a front Radius arm mount, still no CV destruction
a LSD that is shimmed up to the hilt will do a good job as a temp locker, it will act similar to a lockrite but will disengage quicker than a lockrite, especially when you have a front of the ground and give it some extra juice, it will just spin that one, it may give a little traction to the other wheel but thats about it
As for those who say save for a air locker, thats all well and good but for some it doesn't come into the budget, thats why auto lockers and front LSD are considered, yes Air lockers are good, nothing like being able to disengage the locker but a well setup LSD front or a good Auto locker can do wonders. A guy in our 4x4 club did Woodpecker with a Auto in the front of his GQ, no CV's snapped and he went hard, harder than i have ever seen him drive.

With a locker that is engaged both wheels are turning at tha same speed. Air locker or auto locker.
You break CVs in that situation when your not locked and the wheel on the ground is not turning as fast as the one in the air, and then the wheel in the air is coming back to ground faster than your ground speed.
