A friend has a Mitsubishi Montero with an auto tranny and because of a bad mechanic it smoked a lot, after a complete setup and parts change (including replacing injector who has broken tips because of the previous mechanic doesn't realize thet they are lower than the head's surface )the Mitsu runs great, absolutely no smoke at all, but it has no power either (60 rwhp!), we've checked everything and everything looks good, but seems that there's not enough diesel into the engine, also there's not a single check engine code and the dealership's scanner shows that everything works great what could be the cause for the serious lack of power?
Yes, they are brand newNJV6 wrote:Have you checked fuel and air filters?
That's new to me, i'll have to check, thanksscooby_74 wrote:check that the mec didn't adjust the fuel screw in the back of the pump, It richens and leans similar to a carby but through the whole range have seen this done o get cars across the pits but makes them real sluggish.
If the ECU is in "limp mode" that should limit the final speed i assume, in this vehicle's case the top speed on a very flat road is about 140 km/h, so it doesn't seems that's a limp mode to me, however it doesn't have the torque to maintain good speed going uphill on some steep roads, on monday we'll have to check if there's some blocking in the tank's filter or in some hose/couple
