I have just replaced the dizzy cap on the sierra (G16B engine from imported Vitara) due to corrosion. The cap was almost impossible to source. I eventually found the right one off of a 1986-88? Mazda 323/Ford Laser.
Just wondering if there are any other unusual parts I should be looking out for when trying to fix bits & pieces that aren't the same as the Australian spec engine?
Cheers,
Scott

"85 drover, 1.6 EFi Vitara donk, 2" BL, 2" susp lift, exo cage, 31" BFG muds, 6.5's, lockright rear, birf rings & front locker, soon to be RUF"d
It is EPI.
I asked for the dizzy cap to suit the engine but when they brought it out it was very tall & nothing like what my one looked like.
We had quite a hard time finding the right one.

I have seen this problem with other parts.
*could be wrong* but you need to be looking for parts from an early G16 efi vitara - a four door estate wagon circa 1991. These have a range of slightly different parts, and are much closer to the JDM market motors.
LJxtreem (Mock) had this problem with his "Critta" it ran a JDM motor and it always took him a few goes to get the tight parts for it until he knew what to ask for.
Steve.

Yeh,
It is a '96 model imported engine.
I guess it is just a matter of waiting till it goes wrong & trying to find a replacement part, whether it is off the same car or not.
