toyota 5stud rim on a rover
Moderator: Micka
toyota 5stud rim on a rover
has anyone tried a yota 5 stud rim on a rover how close do they go and could they be modded to fit
I phoned the guys who import mickey thompson about a particular rim. His response was that the rover studs were too big to fit in the holes.
He pissed himself whebn I responded with "yeah the land Rovers don't have the problems with wheels falling off like Toyotas do"
I suppose they can always be drilled, but still something else to consider.

also a shame that something like a 2 inch wheel spacer couldn't be made to adapt a nissan/toyota six stud to a rover 5 stud. And vice versa. Physically impossible. Would be nice for my stupid setups.

I did see some UK made spacers that converted to whatever you wanted, eg., later model Rover rims to earlier model, and to jap rims too. Can't remember where though, and why you would want to do this. We bought our first aftermarket rims as blanks and had them drilled to suit the Rover pattern
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
Landrover studs
The Toyotas with a five stud pattern have the same stud thread and pitch as Series 2 Disco. I know I just bought 10 toyota ones to go in my HQ trailer hubs to put series 2 disco rims on the trailer, worked fine and cheaper than Landrover or Repco.
Yup. That was at least my solution...... for axle strength at least.
Quite seriously though. You can get spacers to adapt classic rover pattern to anything else. The adaptors are pretty thick though and then add that to a significantly greater (about 2-3" per rim) offset by converting to a Cruiser offset run and you'll probably end up 5" per side wider.
