Want to buy 4.30 gears for GU
Want to buy 4.30 gears for GU
We have a 2001 GU 4 door auto tranny with the TB45E engine and it has the "HG 39" code (which i assume it has 3.90 gears), after putting some 33's it feels a little sluggish, the front diff is a reverse rotation h233 and the rearend is a H233B with disc brakes (NOT a H260, this is smaller), if somebody wants to sell the ring and pinions for both axles, and then deliver them to Chile (south america) please let me know.
Thanks
Thanks
fair call too...RoldIT wrote:I would be surprised if a set of 4.1 would not fix your problem. Cheaper and I assume easier for you to find locally. There is less ratio change between 32" and 33" tyres than there is between 3.9 and 4.1 diff gears.
check ebay, I think Hobbsy sells 4.3's, 4.1's shoudlnt be hard to find I wouldnt think
I'm chasing genuine 4.3's - what is Hobbsy's contact details??bogged wrote:fair call too...RoldIT wrote:I would be surprised if a set of 4.1 would not fix your problem. edit: none up there at moment, but sedn him a message
Not sure of the OD ratio but the basic but approximate way to calc is divide by the 2 ratios. To be honest, unless the GU was running some non-stock, super tiny tyre to start with like 29"s, you should not notice any difference at 3%. Maybe it's only added tyre weight that seems to be affecting it.
IE
Difference between -
33" / 32" = 3.1% taller ratio
3.9 to 4.11 is 4.11 / 3.9 = 5.3% lower ratio
3.9 to 4.375 is 4.375 / 3.9 = 12.2% lower ratio
Bare in mind, these are only quick and dirty ways to make these calcs but they're pretty close and real world will only be fractions of percentage differences.

So nobody has a front set to sell? a friend has a rear ring and pinion off a V6 Pathfinder with the H233B rear axle, it has 4.30 ratio and he sells it very cheap... but i need the front set i can import it from Japan with the local Nissan dealer, but first is way too expensive, and second, it took about a month
