Roof rubber bits for soft top Sierra

Just wondering if anyone can help me out regarding the bits of roof rubber/trim that goes around the inside a soft top sierra?

The 'soft top' we bought never actually had a canvas top on it as it came with a resin top (which we sold) and the bits of rubber that sealed the canopy on are pretty much shagged & need replacing. Problem is, I don't know what replacement rubber trim to use?

I'll be buying a new canvas top for it soon, and have noted that I also need to get the front strip that holds the canvas soft top in place (yanks call it 'windshield garnish'



Any idea where I can get this part new? None of the Aust online shops mention it, so I guess I'll have to make some phone calls... Unless anyone knows a good supplier that should have it in stock?

Getting back to the other bits... this is what was originally on it (I have since taken it all off to clean up the framework)





So, what replacement bits do I need for this section? Or does anyone happen to have a pic of this section of their zook with the soft top off so I can see?

Any help would be much appreciated

rear hoop will also be required, unless you are going for a 'fast back style"?

the 'garnish' should be pretty in-expensive, would guesstimate around the $60 for a new one or a good condition second hand for around $30 or so.. worst comes to worst PM me i have one available..



another thing to get is a length of weather strip(door rubber) and place it along the top of the windscreen between the soft top and the top of the windscreen frame, it reduces the wind noise and stops the canvas from rubbing on the screen surround.


or you can put 'snap' buttons on the windscreen frame. I use this setup and a length of foam piping across the top to reduce noise..


Oh and behind the B pillar there are two channels(one either side) that will be required also. basically do the same thing as the windscreen channel but vertically..

I have the hoop & 2 black rail things that screw onto the B- Pillar, plus a handful of studs (tho I'll probably need more) So yeah, as you say I think I just need that front bit and weather strip stuff to stop the rubbing. Is there any corner piece bits of padding I need as well? The existing ones are shagged, but I don't even know if I need these bits for a canvas top? (Going by your pics i don't think I do)

I noticed in your last pic there is no padding at all on the side roof bit?! Or did you just take it off for photo purposes? I've seen a soft top with foam tubing but assumed it was just to cover the roll bar that was inside it.

on both my cars neither have the corner pads but i can see how they would be useful to stop the rubbing and possible tearsing of the canvas. am sure clark rubber would have something 'useable/makeshift' otherwise... tear em off. its a zuki! it will last:D

My soft top does not have the corner rubber bits, or any rubber along the top of the door frames. The front of the roof slides into the plastic strip, same as foolsp33d's and I have one snap stud at each end.
When I bought the Zook, about 5 years ago, the roof was brand new. To this day I have noticed no rubbing or wear on the corners of the windscreen or along the top of the doors.

Yeah I think I'll be able to come up with something for the corners since I use a lot of EVA & foam bits for work... Plus I'll be Stikaflexing the bejebus out of it when it all goes back together!
