Very Stiff Steering ??????

Post by ORSM4B »

Hi guys for the past few weeks my steering has become hard when turning at idle when turning to the right and since then has gotten that bad that l have to rev the GQ 4.2 petrol past 2,000rpm to turn the 33's, and yes the pump does sound noisey and l thought it could be burn't fluid but still the same....Any ideas guys would be appreciated...

Cheers Chris

sounds like your pump is shot.

The steering boxes are great on those things.

Get a reco pump and install it ya self its quite easy.

Prolly looking at at least $300

Well got my pump reco'd today for $187 as he said it was damaged which was causing low pressure at low rpm so now l will go out and fit the new pump, will let you know the results.

187 bucks seems reasonable, fingers crossed it works.
