Oh and there were a few times the spectators were a little TOO close to the action(eg-when the tree fell on some spectators  )

   We were right next to that when it happened, my apprentice was videoing whatever truck it was that was coming up stage two and knocked the tree down, he had to leap out of the way to not get hit by it, so we should have some pretty funny video footage of it !! The guy who was sitting next to him wasn't quick enough and pretty much copped it straight in the head... it was only forearm thick sized but it gave him quite a shock, i don't think he was seeing too straight for a while though he claimed to be ok. The officials were quick to move and were very concerned for anyone near there, checking many times that everyone was ok.
One safety thing that wasn't paid enough attention was the proximity of the crowd to the winch cable. We were asked to move back *most* of the time a truck was winching up stage two hill, but not always and it was pretty much up to us to decide how far back we went..... I kept pushing my girlfriend back further each time, specially for the triple line with his winch going as well on the white 45 series trayback !!! That was some scary $h!7 !! J.K and i were standing there watching the tow hook on the aluminium bar of the 60 series VERY CLOSELY. *Nobody take this the wrong way, the bar must have been very well braced and checked over before hand for the cruiser club to use it as a winch car.*

Did anyone else see the big line of trucks pull in at about 7am with the orange suzuki tray back in the lead? I was watching from the campgrounds, and as that suzuki slowed down for the turn into the event's driveway, he got the worst castor slap/death shimmy I have ever seen.. It was physically lifting the tyres off the ground ROFL! :D[/quote]

Gday Tazz from the rush club here. thats my brothers zook. The reason for the crazieness is a bent tierod from playing earlier. They dont bend back quite as easy once you've tried to make them so they wont bend in the first place. Only found out on the way there how much effect it had.

As you could see, it didnt love life at around 20ks/hr. Under or over this was fine. I was following and asked what happened and he said when it started, he jerked it more to scare his girlfriend and then it got a bit crazy.

Never fear, a quick fix of the tierod and she'll be all good again.

You can see where we were standing when we were filming this one... Shane was zoomed in and i was zoomed out and Mal was up the top... I hope the vid came out OK.

We also got the whole lot of the two rock buggys having a play.
