JAMBOREE 2008 IS IT ON
Does anyone know if the jamboree is on next year?
If so where?
If so where?
The 2008 4wd Qld Corroboree is on , It's to be held at Pomona 3rd to 5th of May 2008 . Don't know if this is what your talking about but it is a great weekend out. Being held by the T.L.C.C. you can check it out at www.fwdqld.com.au Maybe see you there !!!
After the 2004 Jambo was cancelled they decided to make it every 2nd year.paul44b wrote:It used to be every year(i've been to every one since about 86) it's only been the last couple of years they haven't, I think they are struggling to get clubs to run it...MjWatt wrote:prob 09 i think. i think its every 2nd year. and j7 was this year

Technically, the 2004 Jamboree was not canceled... it was postponed to 2005.Hekta wrote:After the 2004 Jambo was canceled they decided to make it every 2nd year.
To my knowledge 4WD NSW & ACT has not deemed that the Jamboree be held every two years. They put out a call for club/s to come forward to run it each year... if no clubs come forward, not much can be done.
To date no clubs have shown an interest to run the 2008 Jamboree.

I've heard that the association is investigating if they should form a committee to look into how or if the 2009 Jamboree will be held, from what I've heard it sounds like it might be run by the association with help from several clubs.
In my opinion it's all become too much like a business, I doubt a proper Jamboree (run by 4wd nsw&act) will happen again in the near future.
I think in the future a club will step up and run a comp over the Easter weekend, something simular to a Jamboree, but it won't be sanctioned by
4wd nsw & act.

The thing you all forget is that if you are in an affiliated club you are 4wd nsw & act.65Mog wrote:I've heard that the association is investigating if they should form a committee to look into how or if the 2009 Jamboree will be held, from what I've heard it sounds like it might be run by the association with help from several clubs.
