Vitara 2.0 Snorkel

Post by cj »

The other day Airflow finally completed the snorkel for Vitara 2.0's. This snorkel will work with the 2.0 V6 and the 2.0 4cyl as well as the 2.0 Diesels in overseas markets. It runs along the guard on the outside and then turns 90 deg and goes straight in to the airbox which I felt was the better option for airflow rather than the alternative which would have taken in to the guard after it had come down the A-pillar which would have meant three 90 deg bends rather than just the one it has. Also it could have been made to hug the a-pillar a bit more closely but again it would have had some effect on the airflow so it is the best compromise given the circumstances. It's taken a while but I am very happy with the end result.

Atari4x4,not sure on price but I think it will be around $400 but you will need to check. I think 4wd systems in Adelaide deal in them.

Bruce, at first I wanted it to be as clean and minimal as possible and to go straight into the guard after it came down the A-pillar but that would have meant two more unnecessary 90 deg bends impacting on the airflow so in the end I figured as long as it flowed as well as it could and still hug the guard it was the better outcome. The big thing is that there was a local company willing to develop a product in ABS plastic for a vehicle that is no longer in production and provide it at a cheaper price point than the alternative fibreglass snorkel from Taiwan(?).
