Longfields/McNamara front end question

Post by quaddrive »

Just pulled down the donor front axle etc and got the diagram Jac Mac sent me for boring the stub axles and inserting the mt12003 toyota bushes. However my stubs are different to those in the diagram as there is a perforated looking bush inserted into the inside of the cv end of the stub already, and this is larger ID than the OD of the tojo bush.
Has anyone encountered this? I guess I'll just have to machine up either a specer sleeve or a new bush from bronze?

Cheers

donor axle

Post by quaddrive »

The vehice is a 1987 and the donor axle if from another 1987.
I told Jac mac this and he made no mention of suitability or not.
I have an earlier set of front hubs and stubs on another front end, will these fit the later swivel balls? If so I will just use the earlier stubs and hubs.
