80 series coils under a surf

Post by Outer Limits Hilux »

i went into arb the other day to price a 4 inch lift for th rear end of my surf. they said they only make it up to 2 inchs of lift. i asked for 80 series 4 inch lift and he said they do make it and quoted $250 for 2 springs. just wondering whether the 80 series will fit?

If its 4" ur after then they are the closest you can get to it. Try finding some second hand 80 rear coils and throw them in see how high you may like it if not get some new ones with a larger dia wire(heaier duty)

yep, standard 80 springs will lift your surf`s rear 4". Will have to do a bit to the front to even her out though.

I have done this and run them myself.
2nd hand 80 series rear springs give you 4" of lift when they go it, and sag to about 3"+ after they have settled with a reasonable load on.

Flexes OK , but you do get a bit of rear steer as the control arms are short.

haha.

Dont make the mistake I did and get new cruiser coils, I got sum TJM 10mm raised XGS coils and even with the weight of my rear bar and spare 33 sat way way to high. I now hav old repainted 80 series rears and they give me about 4" rear which is perfect.

O Doug an Boof I shall be joining the SAS party soon enough so u better keep a seat warm :)

No mind changing this time, time is due to Brooksy working on Bartsos rig at the moment and also I am now waiting for my Longfields to arrive before I can put the diff together. realistically theres only a weekend and itd be done its just getting the time when both Brooksy and I can get at it.
