Running Maxxis Creppys at low pressure on the black top

Guys i have 37" Creppys on my car atm, but cant run above 15PSI(i can but there annoying) without disturbing the static balance of the wheels

What i want to know is who knows or who can i contact that knows what is a safe pressure to run on sealed roads while in travel the off road locations, ie 100km seal roads to get to the dirt tracks

Atm i have 15PSI in them, they feel good to drive but noisy as to be expected, and roll into corners as to be expected

4psi rule. Drive them for about an hour and check your pressurs then, if they have increased by more than 4 psi then you will need to put more air in. You may find that a large tyre like that at those pressures aren't as far off as you may think.

consider the autobalance beads would they help your cause?

are they on 10" wide rims, rednecks on 8" rims were a dog to balance (they don't) apparently due to the stiff sidewalls being pulled in by the 8" rims.

I had 37" creepys (on 8" rims) under a rangie that I ran at 20psi on the black top and they were steady and held their ground great (actually thought, and still think, they were one of the best tyres onroad I have ever run).

Mine didn't get warm at all. At 6-8psi, they got hottish

I would say 15 might be abit low, specially if your running a smaller size. Follow the 4psi rule as stated above already and report back.

p.s. reguarding the balance issues, one of my tyres had 400grams of weight on it, then I rotated it on the rim and only needed about 250.
I had no balance issues but only tested to about 140clicks (don't think anymore speed was nessecary).

I tried the auto balance, it made no difference, i have tried all weight but there onl locked rims so that doesnt help, im not worried about the ballance really

Just concerned for the pressure, guess ill have to test drive it, an hour on the sealed, that about as far as i would go anyway

Their booklet states an 8.5" rim minimum.

8" rims with bealocks should be this at least I would have thought.

I run 35s on 8" wide rim - 25psi on road... drives well
crowns alot at this pressure though.

10psi for short distance and they get real hot on the black top.

Creepies are bias ply and the side walls are super thick. 14psi under a cruise doesn't bag the sidewalls
Understand that the flex in the creepies is designed into the tread area itself, not the sidewall. This is to allow the tyre to flex and grip and still turn on rocks with the sidewall twisting up at super low pressures.
I have 37's on 9"beadlocks and run them at 32 on the road, and can quite happily cruise at 110-120 kph all day if i want. Soon as I get them off road I drop to 14-16 for normal offroad and 8-10 for when the fun begins.
I've even started using them on High country trips they're that good and will be using them in Tassie for a couple of weeks. next week
Dave and Lindsays tyres in VIC fitted and balanced mine. They have been flawless from day one and I couldn't be happier.
