2L different wiring

Post by macklux83 »

Hi everybody, yesterday i bought a 2L engine to replace my blown one, it is from an 88 model and i have an 84 model engine, my problem is that all the wiring is different and the 2 main plugs on the right hand side of the engine bay are completely different, as well as the 2 plugs on the fuel pump.
is there anyway of swapping these plugs or the whole loom over or if i swap the fuel pumps over will that work?
cheers

Pics would be good...ive been thru this swap....except mine was putting a 84 engine in my 86 hilux...the only differance in the looms are the 84 is smaller and doesnt have a sensor on the bottom of the intake...and the newer hiluxes have a bigger loom for the sensor on the intake...Not sure about the injector pump...unless you have a engine out of a surf of cressida maybe? the wiring on those pumps and engines are totally different and some have a tps on the pump.

hopefully someone else will have some better info for you.
