Free wheeling hubs

Post by DAZZ »

Guys, after some info on fitting some Free Wheeling Hubs to my '03 Jackaroo. At the moment it has none (Factory shift on a fly). I want to take the load off the CV boots as they are at a bit of an angle.
Fitting them will be no problem, just sourcing them is.
Any info what will fit and from who will be much appreciated.

Hi Dazz, have thought about this myself, how much $$ and where from?

I am thinking more about removing rotating mass from my 03 se when doing the mundane highway work. Plus yeah the cv's will last a heck of a lot longer.

cheers Brad.

Got them from local TJM. Cost me about $200 trade. AVM seemed a bit more exxy then the others but have heared they are good so the extra $$$ didn't worry me.
Has made a fair difference when driving, no center steering wander like before. Power and maybe economy improved also.

How much lift have you got. My cvs are at a fair angle!!!!

cheers mate, mines standard at the moment, will no doubt go a 40mm lift all round like i did with the 98 i had, just gotta wait till the standard gear is stuffed first.

I'd be interested in some longer term fuel consumption differences if you remember.

cheers Brad

Sorry, not as yet. Does seem a bit better, but I don't have actual figures as yet. Driveability has improved a lot. and I think the CVs are definitely going to last longer

Do you think these will fit onto the 04 Ra Rodeo ? Thanks :) My son works for one of the TJM stores (not long been there) and we can find nothing at this stage? Any help would be great.

Sorry I did not realize that this was a Jackaroo, I thought it was a Rodeo.

I just went to the AVM site http://www.avm.com.br/products4.htm and counted the drive shaft splines, found the one that corresponded to that and ordered the hubs (p\n AVM433).

Just order 92 TF free wheeling hubs for my 04 RA from Gold Coast wreckers. Not the AVM ones either. I am getting the Aisan ones. I have been told that anythings from 91 onwards will fit the RA. I guess I will find out in a day or so

Can now confirm that 91 onwards TF hubs will fit the RA Rodeo. Mine arrived today and I have fitted them. Took less than an hour.
Happy days
