offsets

Post by purplebus »

try your local tyre shop. my mate got some from our local bloke who is into 4x4. they may have to ring as they arent listed in their catalogues. if you get them done at an engineering shop go somewhere that knows what they are doin or you will end up with offroad only rims(they will never be able to balance them).
only the first roll hurts, then its a ride..

What are you running at the moment?
If you have nissan wheels just get some 8inch to suit a Toyota FJ45/ 60 series (maybe all toyota 6 stud?) or something - they have greater offset (not sure of exact mm) and will bolt straight up

summerfield engineering in kenwick [ albany hwy ] does custom wheel mods. ive never used them so camt comment on their work. you can also buy steel wheels with up to 26 degree neg offset which to me looks like about 30 mm more than standard rims.

Toyota rims will give you an extra 40mm offset. ;)

there is your problem ;)
doesnt matter how much you increase the track it will not increase "stability" ie it will still handle like a piece of shit and wont fix body roll

no no there is no problem with how it handles on or off the road the suspension kit i got on my car is a very good setup and all i wont is to space out my rims so the car can go on some more exterm angles :P

u mean 10" wide rim's ???
i was thinking about it but it wont take the inside wall of the tyre away from the body of the car  but the set of off road tyres im getting will be in 10's but i still need to get them offset aswell as my road tyres

It will move th tyre away from the body an inch if the wheels are the same backspace as you already have.

You could try wheel spacers, not legal bet neither is your lift and tyres anyway.

Be weary though, guy in our club put them on his 60 series and broke the studs a couple of times with them on
