sounds like maybe a loose connection somewhere

that or hit the starter with a hammer
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

You sold the GQ because you realised it was the right thing to do (insert derogatory comments re Nissans in general here :D ) . I suggest you go to a marriage counsellor to see if you and your newly betrothed 60 can work things out :D

In plain english, go see an auto electrician. Sure they charge a bit but a good one will set you straight

There are a couple of contacts in the starter. One on each side of the solenoid.Heavy wires going to them."L" shaped when removed.they can and will wear were the solenoid contact ring touches them, much like points. The one sending power to the starter may be cactus. They are easy enough to remove and cheap to buy.Being a tight arse I just brazed the contacts up and filed them flat.Your battery may be a bit down and because the contacts are worn won`t pull the solenoid over enough.
