I would love to know the true answer to this question.
Averyone I knows says that an AT tyre is better on sand then a MT.
There however are a lot of people on this forum that will say a MT is better.
Has anyone actually done a side by side comparison?.
Same brands, one in AT and one in MT, both at same pressue and in the really powdery sand. Would love to try that myself.
Surley it must be a clear cut answer. One must be better and sand and the other not.
( I have a sneaking suspicion that people with MT tyres run them on the very low side of low pressure to compensate for there reduced performence in the sand
and then say to people, "sure there good, I think there better than AT")
....this is only my theory...

pressuming the mtz is a wider muddy, they will be better providing they are dropped enough, eg 18-20 lb
if both the same size then the AT if both dropped to 18-20lb will be marginally better. But no enough to make me change tyres for a moreton trip!
