was talking to someone today who done the conversion and seemed to have the same problem as i am having.... LESS power than my 1hd-t.
it is like the engine is in limp mode.
he said there is 2 gearbox switches (cant really remember i think reverse and neutral) that limit the 150 kw / fuel flow of the injector pumpso it does not blow the gearbox. he had a electrician hook these up and bang it had the balls..
i do remember seeing these in the loom and thought nar i dont need them, so i never hooked them up. has anyone heard of these on the 1hd-fte from a 79 series. its now in my 80 series.

u probly allready know but the 1hdfte out og a 79 sereis only has 122kw. wich aint much more than ur 1hdt.
so unless u intercool it and chip it wouldn't expect masive gains in performance.

The book i sent you should mention if the two wires have continuity in first or if they are seperated in first....from other places on the transfer where the same switch is employed, the boxes internals will push the contacts together in first to give continuity....so if you have them joined together, disconnect them, and you will get a power up.

sorry i didn't know that. i have a water to air cooler and getting a chip soon but there is seriously a lack of power, it doesn't even come close to my old worn out engine ever... it is the switch im sure as i was told by a reputable diesel shop it limits fuel flow so as to not blow the gearbox in first and reverse..

i know that in first and reverse it has 12v but in any other gear they measure 0 to 0.3 volts.. ill try hook them up tomorrow.
other than that the tacho is not working but i really cant see that doing anything as in picking up a signal for a input..other than that everything but throttle position was fine on the diag scan tool. accell pedal is at 90% max push.. if i grab the wire from the spin on the pedal and pull it a inch i get 98%...

just done a search under mud4b and in toyota... it came up with no mention of this switch...
