dash

just measured my gu and gq pillar to pillar gu 1440 approx gq 1400 so you would need to cut 20mm off each side which is were the side window demist vents sit so may look like crap,do not konw about moving dash left to only cut on side as steering wheel may not line up

hope this helps

Why? Gu wont fit and you will loose heaps of room.

Why not customize your GQ interior possibly get one out of a late model unit and change the colour of the globles or possibly just customise it yourself and put certain parts in...

I would also consider change the carpet put a new fresh unit in and also update your seats......

If you really want to spruce it up and make it look a bit fresh in your eyes, I agree with the other posts, just customise it a bit. Someone on here did a great job of converting all the black dials to white. You could re-colour the whole dash if you wanted to or just selected bits.

It's all a matter of taste and with my POS there's no way I'd bother, but if you are up for it there are cool things you could do that would be a lot less hassle than trying to shoehorn in a GU dash.

It's not like GUs have fancy digital instruments or anything anyhow.
This is not legal advice.

if you wanted to swap the whole dash, you would probably have to cut it in the center take the 40mm or whatever out, trim the back and sides to make it sit as far back as possible, then have it re covered...$$$ you would still be jinning around for ages trying to get the instruments, heater controlls blinkers ect working again...would be a BIG job... nothing really hard.. just a lot of work.. unless you have done custom work on street machienes ect, probably more trouble than its worth..

Why? I know its prettier but the GU dosent have 1/2 the gauges, oil pressue, volts.
