What to service after sitting still for a year??

What to service after sitting still for a year??
Hi All, I will be purchasing my Grandads Gunmetal Grey 1988 Landcruiser GX Turbo Diesel(4L..is that the 12HT??), I believe it has auto transmission(99% sure of that). This will be my first foray into Landcruisers and not my last.
It was in mint condition when he passed away....that was 1 year and 1 month ago. It has been sitting still since the day he passed(he did drive it on his final day)
Now that the estate is sorted and I can go ahead and buy it.
My question is the list of things to service? Most of the stuff I will be able to do myself but some stuff I'll have to get done professionally?? or will I?
The List: Engine Oil(recommendations?), Oil Filter, Air Filter, Tranny oil, Transfer case oil, Diffs, Batteries(he had Dual, I believe), Wheel Bearings, shocks?, rust check(It was undercover at least but the garage was open at the back end. Another good thing it is in Pingelly, WA...a fairly dry part of WA), new tyres of course, I would expect the axle's to still be OK..., Anything that I have missed, or should look into?
Cheers in advance for your help.

I doubt the shocks will be gone, as with the wheel bearings. All the fluids are the basics as you mentioned. I don't think i'd trust the fuel, i'd ditch it. Then run a good injector cleaner. Probably worth giving the engine a nice flush too, drain the old oil, run some not too dear oil for a few days then drain it and replace with good stuff.
It shouldn't have developed any more rust sitting there than it would of if it were being driven around

I would be tempted to check the thermostat and maybe get the rad and block flushed.
The 60 on the farm was left to sit for 6 months and the thermostat gunked up and wouldnt open, pulled it out and there was a fair bit of crap in the block and top of rad.

It should fire straight up.
A year is not that long for it to sit.
As said I would drain as much fuel out as you can and fill it with fresh stuff.
And a good standard service of filters and oils would be the go.
Everthing else should be sweet. But it all depends how recently everything was looked at before it sat for a year.

Thanks guys for your advice. I'm heading there tomorrow to work on it and drive it back...hopefully it will hang together on the 2 hour trip back from Pingelly.
Can anyone confirm for me what the engine series number would be? It is a 4L Turbo Diesel/Auto Trans....is that the 12HT or is it something else?? Would like to know before heading to the auto parts place so I get the description right!
cheers.

Diesel fuel does not 'go off' however if it has been exposed to any moisture, it may have grown black algae which will clog filters in no time. just drain a LITTLE from the bottom of the tank into a glass jar and if there is no sign of water or black goo, leave the fuel, it will be ok.
Free air locker to the first 20 callers!
Well the Cruiser(Confirmed 12HT and a manual..not auto as thought, with 300,000k's on the clock) has arrived at it's new home. A mate and I arrived there on saturday with $450 worth of parts and fluids...only to find that My Grandad(top bloke as he was) had serviced it before passing.....the oil looked cleaner than the Shel Helix diesel I had bought (to run thru as a flush...before running the good oil) and was full(no leaks). engine bay, spotless. fuel filter, still as new. Air filter, still as new. oil filter, still as new.....brake fuild, not jello and no leaks. I did drain about 20 litres from the bottom of the tank, then topped it up with a fresh 20 and some F-10 injector cleaner.
At least the new battery came in handy, plugged it in and started it up. plenty of black smoke to start with(as expected) but it cleared quickly. Let it run for a while then took it for a quick drive around Pingelly(which isn't big) pumped the tyres up and drove back to Perth.
It enjoyed the run back, sounded great with the turbo whistling away. An awesome rig..just needs a wash and polish..fairly stoked to get it for $4K
Will service in 3,000k's so I know where it's at.
Cheers for all your input guys!!
