today i in stall a 2" BL on my 2L LWB vitara. but wen i finished putting all the blocks in place and went to check the transmission it would not go into 2 or 4th or even 2WH!i took the centre console out and tried again with nothing disrubting the gear stick and still same problem.

what do i do? i need to drive this car to work monday.

if i reverse the lift will it still work. a bit worried. any help would be appreciated

Are you sure the actual body isnt hitting the gearstick? Sounds like it to me.

its looks to be clear iv taken everything out and cant seem to see anything obstructing it

You'll have to make the front and back of the gearshift hole about 25mm (each)bigger.

Did you take the gearstick out when u lifted it? My gearbox didnt align itself in neutral when i pulled it out, i had NO gears!

if in 1st have u rolled the car abit so the g'box moves the gears? maybe its just stuck alittle.

Is the clutch cable still intact?

yes clutch works fine just cant get into those gears
havnt got the car with me now will hav to check that the body isnt touching it tommoro

Maybe.. :oops: I just reread the Q and its a Vitara not a Sierra so I might be wrong but check it out anyway.

Yep... extend the shift hole as want33s said... we had same deal with my X-90 (Vitara)
DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender

This seems to be a bit hit and miss, the majority of Vitara's I sold kits to haven't needed the actual tunnel cut. Most just need the steel ring around the boot trimmed out. Not to say it isn't the tunnel though.

Paul, you may have to either trim the tunnel or remove the levers and give them a slight bend it the required direction.

I had to cut *and* bend quite a bit... but I've heard this is just an issue with X-90 bodies
