FJ40 Build up

Here are a few pics of a FJ40 we are building for a customer.

It has a 350 chev, turbo 400 and hilux transfer. Dana 44 front and a 9inch rear with 44 swampers

it was a "show" car :roll: The body had some wierd mods where it flipped up at the rear and the front also tilted forward.

it already had the 350 in it but with a cruiser manual box. We have basically had it down to the chassis rails and re-built the whole thing

good stuff.. how much will it weigh at the end including driver, fuel & recovery equipment?

i have no idea on the weight of it. It will have to be weighed for the engineers cert so i will let you know

Don't tell me it had rack and pinion or some other aborted steering right? :lol:

Ruff told me about this a long time ago.

I think it was actually Ruff's car, he built that :lol: (just kidding, he showed me some pics a few years ago) ROFL!!

Your cage looks good mick!

what wheelbase will it be at? is he expecting the hilux transfer case to hold up to a 350? and the dana 44? (hope he takes it easy)
hands and mums dont count!!!

Thanks!

I dont think it is going to hold together, but that is what he supplied us with.

The wheelbase is about 110 inches

no portals for mine, i have rockwells.

As soon as this one is out of the workshop my cruiser will be in there getting finished off.

Nice work Mick, that thing is really coming along :cool:

I might have to speak to you soon about a new cage. Could something like that be made on my rig and still keep the body ?

I want something that mounts to the chassis for extra strength ;)

Yeah, we can build a chassis mounted cage and use all the original body.
