Hey mate, if your doing a 1.6l g16 engin into a sierra then im doing same thing at the mom. this is sorta half an answer but gives a litle info. quoted yesterday, JUST for G16B (fuel inj) engin recon $2300. no computer, loom, bell housing/ converter plate or altenator. This quote was b4 they knew i wanted to do a siera engin conv. so was on the assumption they were removing out of vitara then installing there reconed engine back in. there now looking for a computer, loom and all the other stuff for me b4 they do another quote.
not to hijack but does any one know where i can get a loom n computer for the G16B? PM me.

hope it helped mate.

I paid $500 for my 1.6 with a 1.3 gearbox bolted to it!
just needed leads and a new throwout bearing and sparkplugs.
took me 4 hours to swap the motors.
$4000.
EFI with a turbo and stainless exhaust, with chip work, and possibly port the head.
Then i might think of $4000
not a carby swap over.
should be $1500 to $1800 for basic short rebuilt 1.6 motor.
$75 for mod plate.
$250 new clutch.
$200 new oil and other necessities
My 2c
or if you lived in brisbane you could have it all done by someone else for $2500 to $3000
I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.

I just put a g16a in a sierra. I paid $700 for a second hand carbi motor. The wreckers want about $1400 for the same, or $2000 for a g16b injected. New Daikin clutch kit was $148 from cheapa auto spares, oil n filter for $15, few different bolts and half a days work. Should b easy under $1000 if u do it urself. Hope this helps :D

If they think you are serious about getting them to do the job and show some kind of commitment, they should give you a better price, as they would get 10 customers a day asking how much this or that may cost, so they would just quote off the top of theyre heads without thinking too much about it, as 99% of ppl asking arent serious.

thats about the going rate over here for the conversion sadly.

but if you are only going a carb 1.6 not a mpfi one. then it'l only take a day to do yourself in your driveway with minimal tools.

hire a hoist and stand and go for it. i may be able to give a hand if needed.

btw buy bents apadter kits also. easy to use.
