I am buying a Zook from VIC , without a Road Worthy Cert .
The car is currently Registered in Vic , but seller is selling without the plates .

Find a 'sympathetic' (Read: Dodgy) RWC mechanic.
Change the 32's to a standard set and get a mod plate for the G16.
Should be enough to get you through.

hey there,
last month i did pretty much what ur doing,
i bought the sierra in vic, same deal eith rego/plates.
had to get a blue slip in nsw, got through with no problems with a custom front bar, extd. shackles, undersized steering wheel. i just noticed the other day it duznt have a cat either.

problem being, they didnt tell me some things about the car (no cat, dodgy seatbelts etc.) that could have made it harder for me to pass rego had the blue slipper been more aware of his surroundings

after flying down to buy a car your hardly going to go home over minor issues.

also dont even think about getting an uregd vehicle permit and driving it back, sierra's are not built for the highway: -mine only just got me past the nsw border before crapping itself. (big middle finger to the holbrook towies if theyre reading ($2400 tow to syd))

that said, if its the right price, you tow it home, and you know some1 who can do the inspection for you 100% it wouldn't be a problem

Make sure you let the person doing your Safety Certificate know that you bought it interstate and are keeping the car, most are more lenient that way.

The Dude who currently owns the Sierra , has 11 Months Reg on it on his VIC plates.

Its a shame to waste 11months of Rego rite ,so

Is there no way i can get the car transferred to my name , without the seller having to do a RWC in Vic prior to sale ( something that the seller doesnt have time to do)

You can usually get a refund of rego from the transport department of that state. I bought 2 interstate cars last year (NSW and WA) but it was too much of a hassle to bother getting the refund (for NSW you actually have to go in person, not much chance when i'm in Qld!). A quick google should tell you how to do it in Vic.

The body lift has to certified by QLD Trans. All the other mods, except tyres?, can be cert'ed by an approved engineer.

I can PM you the number of a guy who does RWC's at your house (Gold to Sunshine coast) but he charges $150.
Never failed a car :D You will still need a mod plate first though.
