question 'bout a manifold
Gday all, i've got a 85 swb Nb 2.6 and i've got to replace the manifold cause she's buggered...i've heard that magna and izuzu manilolds maybe compatable..is this right or am i just been given the run around? Cheers mutchly for any help. :]
I can't imagine why Isuzu would turn to Mitsubishi for an engine?
The thermostat placement can be worked around, but the biggest issue is stud pattern. Magna used Astron 2, which have lower studs between ports. Astron 1 lower studs are immediately below the ports. Again, there are work-arounds, but a Sigma manifold should bolt up OK - either 2.0 or 2.6, but you'll need to make sure it's NOT Astron 2. (Where are you? I might have one.)
But what's wrong with your manifold? Hole in the bottom plate of the water gallery? If so, find an aluminium welder, grind off the bottom plate and weld on a new one. Better than anything you'll find second-hand.
