Thanks Spock for posting this up, we have a meeting at my place today to finalise arrangements, and I will post up any changes later on tonight.

Lets hope some forum members and others can come along and try to take away more trophies than the Tough Tracks 4x4 club did last time.

Cheers

A club run is what this is all about, to hang out with friends and look at what others have done, whether that be comp trucks, tourers or mums daily taxi.

As well as the swap meet to try and clean out your back shed of unwanted leftovers. (or lots of spares in some cases)

And nottie, yes unfinished projects will be ok, I can ask the judges to take into account what has already been done, and you never know someone may give you some ideas while your here.

Cheers guys

Ok, after our final meeting yesterday, nothing has changed as we are just tying up any loose ends.

The gates will be open on Sunday morning from 7.00am for the entrants of the Show and Shine and the Swap Meet people, we are not supposed to start any earlier due to council regulations. Entry for your polished up pride and joy is $15 and a swap meet site is also $15.

Yes we will have a BBQ happening early as well. Plus cold drinks, tea & coffee etc.

Entry for the general public is from 9am and will be a gold coin donation.

The Team Theme award in the Show and Shine section is for 5 cars this year, as in the past it was for 6 cars. (one less trophy I need to buy)
Any questions I can be contacted any time on 0409 551445, or simply post it up here, but I am only able to get back on here every 2nd day due to work commitments (work always interferes with fun)

At the end all proceeds as spock stated goes to our charities, Kidney Health Australia
Coochiemudlo Surf lifesavers
Volunteer Marine Rescue Victoria Point

Thanks guys

Hey Johnny, its the weekend after MMM's winch challenge, so are you sure you will be capable of having a car down here by then. cause I think the Park Princess has big plans for you ol' mate

But if you mean dents and scratches on the comp truck, well that wont matter as long as you clean out the empty's first. nudge nudge

After Dave's weekend there will probably be a few bent comp trucks but that's ok, as long as a few show up for their sponsors benefit.

Duncan,

any word on special attractions or rigs of interest?

Static displays only i'm guessing.

Tough tracks guys might be a bit harder pressed to trophy up this year, we got a round at the start of Feb to repair from...

Thanks Luke
G'Day Luke, yes there are different categories for the show and shine.
First up you have Best presented make, ie: nissan, ford, holden suzuki, etc.
The Toyota category is split into l/cruiser (wagon, ute 80,100 60 prado etc), and the rest are called toyota, such as rav, hilux, surf etc.

In all these you will only be judged against the same brand and not suzuki against a pajero for instance.

The basic criteria for these is simply how well it has been looked after and how well it is presented on the day, plus the basic safety items that we all should carry. The older cars still have a huge chance as mileage is taken into consideration.

Then we have the Touring class, and that is they have been setup for long distance cruisin' in the outback. And the Modified which is basically the comp trucks.

We also have a class for the Tradesman which is for the builders, brickies, labourers etc. And these need to display that this is what they are set up for, such as signwriting, ladder racks or large tool boxes etc.

Hope this helps with your setting up for the show.

Thanks
Duncan

Oh! I nearly forgot that the one entry of $15 allows you to enter as many classes as you like. Also if you have 5 cars you can enter as a team, for the team theme award.

Thanks Rolly, I was wondering how you guys would be after your event a couple of weeks ago, thanks again.

You may be able to pick up a few cheap spares as well, because I have had an enormous amount of interest from people wanting sites for the swap meet.

For all the boaties out there we will have Wynnum Marine dispaying some of their boats as well, as this is an Outdoor Recreation Show as well as the 4wd Show and Shine.

Looking forward to seeing all of you on Sunday.

And we will be having the Auction at Midday with a set of tyres from BFG as the no.1 item.

Thanks again

Well the weather has turned on a hot one for the 4wd and Outdoor Recreation Show tomorrow.
Hope all of you are out polishing up your pride and joy, and will be at the Cleveland Showgrounds bright and early.

The gates open for entrants in the show and shine at 7am, and to the public from 9am.

We have had a huge number of enquiries for stands in the swap meet site, so all is looking good for a big day.
We will have plenty of cold drinks and ice-creams for sale as well as the BBQ going all day.

Thanks everyone in advance.
