i was under the impression that if your doing an engine conversion the engine needs to be newer than the vehicle that its going in unless it is run on lpg only

Does that mean i can't put an engine out of a 89 model VN into a 91 model VN?Bartso wrote:i was under the impression that if your doing an engine conversion the engine needs to be newer than the vehicle that its going in unless it is run on lpg only

You can put whatever motor you want into whatever vehicle you want, age isn't important. What is important is meeting the emission standard for your vehicle, of which it's much easier to do with either a newer engine and it's pollution gear or LPG.bogged wrote:x2 + surf in the sandBartso wrote:i was under the impression that if your doing an engine conversion the engine needs to be newer than the vehicle that its going in unless it is run on lpg only
If God did not intend for us to eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?
vn motor
engine has to be of the same age or later model otherwise it has to run lpg to be legal best way is to speak to an engineer befoer you do anything.
The problem is earlier engines will not pass the emission tests of the later vehicle need to be of the same age or later as other people have said.

A speed camera would have prevented that!
You have to look at the emissions standards for the year of the vehicle and for the year of the engine. Shouldn't be a problem if the emission standards are the same.badger wrote:surely no engineer in his right mind would try to claim an injected vn has worse emissions than a carby gq regardless of age
