Depends weather you want water and shit gushing up through the holes when you do creek crossings or mud ect.. My mate had an alloy one like that and all it did was hit shit and bend and become a menace. Steel is a must if you intend on the bush, or dont run one at all. If its more of a show pony lux, i would just leave it as is. If it will be used as a bash plate it wont hold up. If its more show pony plate it will do the job fine with or without holes  ;)

I'm actually in the process of making one up for my 2000 lux.

I'm using 3mm steel plate, and the plan is to unpick the spot welds on the original bash plate, and fold and weld the new plate to the old braces. As for air vents, a couple of 30mm holes with some stainless mesh should do the trick. I don't know if they NEED to be there, but as for mud and stuff, well the factory ones have holes and it's never been an issue before.

the piece above the bash plate is stainless plate with holes in , after the body lift there was a big hole . There to stop stuff going up into the radiator.

i suspect its the "u" and the "fuking" (altho i cant see a way around the last one). could even be the "shite" but i see shite as a word in itself so i dont think warrants being corrected :P

now my opinion on the subject:

SHUT THE FARK UP AND GET BACK ON TOPIC!!!
