WT Vs NT???
WT Vs NT???
now i know this is going to spark a big debate, but i have just been wondering what you guys think of this??
My question is which in your opinion is better? A NT Sierra or a WT Sierra?!?!
Now i am asking for the main reason that most of you have got NT sierra's and just wondering what advantages and disadvantages of both models are?
As always any reply is always helpful

i had nt with max offset rims and twin locked never broke a axle, changed it to wt with 15by8 sunnys not max offset with twin lockers drove it the same and broke axles front and rear
in my beliefs nt is stonger and u can pic up diffs very cheap for them
when it was nt with max off set rims it was 4 inchs wider than a wt with sunnys, and stronger

I've only ever had WT's… 1990 and 1995
I can't give a realistic point of view as I've never owned or driven a NT.
But I'm sure 'WT' or 'NT' track 'modded' or 'unmodded' I'd still be happy.
In the future I'll be looking for another zook, for a bit of a project. I don't think that I'll be too concerned whether it's a WT or NT. Just as long as it's pretty straight and not too much rust.

WTF? How many people do you need to say NT with WT diffs is the best combination?Camdaman12 wrote:they are some good points guys but still not definitely which is better WT or NT but this is still a new thread so ill wait and see what others have to say as well.

Oh, and Joshnz1, where do you think the extra strength is in the NT stuff? It's identical but for the width as far as I can see.

This has been done before.....
BUT i love my NT! Doesn't fit in the wheel ruts where as the WT does or the ones i have wheeled with any way!
Mines on 32's and is a bit typsy every now and then but you learn about what angles you can drive and what line to go.
My body is hamered cause one side is always scraping along a bank!
BUT when you out drive the blokes who spend$27381327 on there rigs with your zook that has cost $8000 or so i love how mine go's!
Go's till you break something or have a sleep!

Built swb sierra, building a lwb sierra ute and have a dmax for family camping
thats what i thought aswell light have someting to do with not being aswide so the axle dosent twist as much and puts extra strain on the cv or axle im not sure i was just sayin that i think nt is stronger as i never broke nt stuff only broke wt stuffGwagensteve wrote:WTF? Steve.
WT all the way.
There is a never ending parts list for them e.g transfer gears, panels brakes, diffs, easier 1.6 conversions,(depends if its a 1.3nt) etc etc
Nt are getting old/rare.
Yeah u can mod a nt so its a wt. But thats why suzuki made it? Correct? But i know bout the spring spacing, thats a simple fix, offset wheels and/or spacers. Most people dont go over 31"s anyway
Also depends what you are doing with it, Comp Truck? go nt, they would be abit cheaper, you would be putting bigger diffs in it anyway.

I am Tim
i love my both my NT LWB and NT SWB.
i just find they seem to not sit in wheel ruts, which is a huge advantage as you can perch a tyre ontop and one in the rut and not get diffed out. My brother tries it in his SWB WT and diffs out as he sits in the ruts.

I tend to dissagree with your parts bit....... The transfer cases are the same just different flanges! Takes 10 minutes tops to change em..... And most parts are exactly the same and an engine conversion would be the same because the only difference with the body is the flares are bigger?BlueSuzy wrote:WT all the way.

Yes but you are comparing apples and oranges.BlueSuzy wrote:i thought the transmision tunnel on the 1L nt is smaller, so u need a body lift for the 1.6 1.3g'box conversion.
Most people would have read this post as WT or NT 1.3 sierra. Very few people prefer the 1 litre NT these days. I'm still a sucker for the little 4banger
Actually the Maruti utes from 94 onwards were WT 1Lwant33s wrote:There is no 1L WT only 1.3 WT.BlueSuzy wrote:Well the apples and oranges has gone a bit bananas cos noone explained which Nt/Wt they r on about 1L Nt 1L Wt or 1.3Nt 1.3 Wt
1L NT and 1.3 NT. Why anyone would want a 1L NT is beyond me.
